Photo to Document

A few useful answers

Answers about free OCR, privacy, image support, local processing, PDF types and recognition problems.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

The first version is free, with no registration, watermark or download charge. File and page limits protect browser memory; they are not a paid-plan restriction.

Does my photo leave my device?

The application does not upload your photos, filenames, document text or generated files. It downloads public program resources, models and fonts. The hosting provider can receive ordinary website request information such as your IP address. Browser-based visitor analytics is not enabled.

Can I use it without the internet?

The first visit and uncached resources require a connection. After the relevant resources are ready, the current task can run locally. Selecting another uncached OCR language or PDF font can require a connection. Reopening the website offline is not promised.

Why is the recognized text wrong or empty?

Check the page orientation, image clarity and selected recognition language. Try a smaller crop around one column and avoid shadows. Blank pages produce no text. Handwriting, mathematical notation, tables and vertical Japanese are outside the reliable first-version scope.

Can it convert any PDF to Word?

No. It accepts supported photos and recognizes their text before DOCX export. It does not accept PDFs or offer a general PDF-to-Word converter.

Why did a download or model fail?

A lost connection, blocked resource, low memory or browser restriction can interrupt processing. Keep existing edits, retry the affected page or process a smaller batch. If a PDF font cannot load, use DOCX or TXT while checking your connection.

Will it reproduce a book exactly?

No. Text exports rebuild paragraphs and pagination. Images, complex tables, exact typography and original page geometry are not reconstructed. The separate image PDF mode preserves the photographed appearance but does not recognize its text.

May I convert a book I own?

Only process material you have the right to use. Ownership of a physical copy or personal use does not automatically settle copyright or other restrictions. This service does not distribute books or remove protection.
